Hyaluronidase is a prescription-only enzyme used to dissolve cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers where clinically indicated.
At DK Medical Aesthetics, HA filler dissolve treatment in Dundalk is available following medical assessment for patients who wish to correct or reverse previous filler.
It may be considered in cases of:
• Overcorrection
• Filler migration
• Palpable lumps or nodules
• Asymmetry
• Patient preference for reversal
Hyaluronidase breaks down the cross-linked structure of hyaluronic acid fillers, allowing the material to be safely metabolised and cleared by the body.
• Effects may begin within minutes
• Full results are typically seen within 24–72 hours
• More than one session may be required depending on filler type, depth, and volume
This treatment is effective only for cross-linked HA fillers.
As with any injectable procedure, potential side effects may include:
• Temporary swelling
• Redness
• Bruising at the injection site
Rare but possible:
• Allergic reaction
• Infection
• Uneven dissolution
Hyaluronidase may also temporarily reduce naturally occurring hyaluronic acid in the treated area, which can result in short-term volume loss.
A consultation is required prior to treatment to determine suitability.
• Duration: approximately 15–30 minutes
• Minimal downtime
• Suitable only for HA dermal fillers
• Not effective for non-HA fillers
DK Medical Aesthetics no longer offers HA filler treatments. Assessment and HA filler dissolve treatment in Dundalk remains available where clinically appropriate.
