Botulinum toxin type A (BTX/A) is injected into the trapezius muscles to relieve shoulder tension, muscular pain and tension-related headaches.
This treatment is commonly referred to in aesthetic settings as “Barbie Tox” or “Swan Neck” treatment due to its potential to create a more elongated neck and refined shoulder contour.
By reducing excessive muscle activity and bulk, the treatment may both alleviate discomfort and subtly refine the neck–shoulder transition.
🕒 Onset: Relief from tension and headaches may begin within 5 – 10 days; visible contouring develops over 2 – 4 weeks
⏳ Longevity: Typically 3–6 months
