BTX/A is an effective treatment for chronic migraine — defined as 15 or more migraine days per month, each lasting at least 4 hours. The treatment follows the PREEMPT protocol, involving 31 small injections across 7 specific muscle areas of the head and neck.

🕒 Onset:
– Initial relief: 4 – 10 days
– Full therapeutic effect: 6 – 12 weeks

Longevity: Typically 10–12 weeks

For sustained prevention, treatment is usually repeated every 12 weeks.

Treatment is offered to patients with an established diagnosis of chronic migraine by their GP or neurologist. This service does not replace specialist neurological care.
